"Freemasonry and Tarot Cards"   04/25/2017 -

Are tarot cards just a European card game or are they mystic tools for seeing the future? What is their connection to Freemasonry, if any? What is the mystery surrounding them? Bro. Michael M. Hughes is a fiction and non-fiction author and lecturer on the paranormal. He is also a member of the Maryland College of Masonic Rosicrucians. On April 25 he will tell the story of tarot cards and their connection to the Craft. An informal meal will be served at 6:30.

2017 Prestonian Lecture: “The Grand Design”   05/02/2017 -

RW Bro. James Daniel is the 2017 Prestonian Lecturer. He has had an exceptional career in Freemasonry, serving the Craft as Grand Secretary of the United Grand Lodge of England, Grand Secretary General of the Supreme Council, 33°, for England Wales, and Master of Quatuor Coronati Lodge No. 2076, the premier lodge of research. RWor Daniel received a PhD in history from the University of Sheffield, specializing in Freemasonry in the British Empire 1850–90, and he is now a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.

Bro. Jim was selected as the Prestonian Lecturer for the tercentenary (1717-2017) of the Grand Lodge of England. The Grand Lodge Maryland and Patmos Lodge are honored to have him deliver his lecture here. There will be an informal meal at 6:30. (Please email the Master, sbrent332@verizon.net, if you're coming to dinner so he knows how much water to put in the soup.) Copies of his lecture, published in book format, will be available for $10.
